"1970": I wonder if I assumed that the rapture idea was a much longer held concept. I am tripping about my history and that of my ancestors.

From the time I was very young I would look up to the sky expectantly. I can't remember how this was taught to me and where I learned it.

I am impressed by your work and study on this. It is interesting but also important for me to dismantle the old religious teaching.

OMG, I remember something. This one concept was such a dark storm cloud over our (friends) lives. If there was something difficult, dreadful or painful that we had to face in our lives (such as a huge project or exam I thought I would fail or weren't prepared for), we would say "this would be a great time for Jesus to come back". I would almost be pleading for it to be so, to escape life. Conversely, when we were hoping to reach an achievement, goal, desire or imagined bliss in life, I would fear that Jesus would come back right before I could get to that point. This teaching was consuming and commanded so much space in my mind.

Your work is like therapy sessions.

... mind blowing trying to dig out all the roots.
