no longer shall we plead

Photo by Tamara Harhai on Unsplash

love denied
in over my head
drowning agony

did you make me plead
or was it my responsivity
my own desperate need
the one skill i knew in absolute

and you knew my void, my want
wounds i sustained
from time before
primed toward
melding to your compressive force

were you my love
or fire that leveled my landscapes
lesson learned
through grief and toil
love beyond your capacity

you were my fire
violent flames decimate
death that kept me warm
the firebrand i refused adamantly
despite my weakened state
my past
my victory anthem
warrior's creed
medal of bravery
my charge
wounding
asphyxiation
burns
fourth degree
catalyst toward metamorphosis
