He Took Me On A Singles Outing But We Were A Couple
He used me to hurt other women.
When we were dating, Rick signed us up for a white water rafting trip. We were going to brave the rapids. It sounded like a fun adventure. But this trip was with a singles group. But we were not singles looking to meet other single people. That is the whole point of singles groups.
I questioned him about this. He had an answer to dismiss my concerns and smoothed it over enough that I dropped the issue.
After the rafting excursion we had extra time to take a dip and enjoy being in the river. It was a place that the guide directed us to that was quiet and still water.
Rick was being romantic and playful. He was holding me and kissing me in the water. I remember the reaction of the girls that were very near us. I was feeling very awkward. It was nice to have my guy be sweet to me. But these girls were singles on a singles group outing. There were three girls and they were strongly reacting to such a display of affection. You couldn’t avoid hearing them. I felt embarrassed and spoke to him about it. He said, “They’re just jealous.” But I knew I would have felt the same way if I were them. I wanted to be be sensitive to their feelings and not draw attention to ourselves.
