How Do I Take Back My Power When There Are No Good Options?

“Don’t let the assholes wear you out”

YA’s lawn (left) vs. mine (right) Photo by author.

I interrupt this regularly scheduled program to air my frustrations. This is my way of calling a friend to vent my fury.

I heard very loud machine noise this morning. When I looked out my window, I saw it.

I call him Yosemite Asshole (YA) and it is because he embodies to me the Yosemite Sam cartoon character. YA has once again used his very loud and powerful blower to clean his lawn. And what happens when you completely clean your lawn with a blower??? You blow everything into the lawn next to yours. He blew all of his leaves and debris into my lawn.

I am angry and as I was thinking about what I could do about it. I decided that I would take photos of what he did. I had an anxiety attack. I coached myself: “Breathe. Calm. You didn’t do this. He did this.”

YA is a raging, belligerent and abusive ass. I knew that going outside and taking photos of what he has done could cause harm to me or to his family. He is dangerous. I was taking photos of his property and mine.

He has drained the life, will and spirit from his wife and kids. You can see it. Their energy to be happy, free or fun has been snuffed out. Any action I take will result in him causing more harm.
