I am deeply empathetic to what you are enduring and I am so sorry. That must be deeply painful and destructive to you and your family. I want you to understand and study narcissist, psychopath and sociopath. I would recommend that you- the parents (only at this point) talk to Dr. Ramani Durvasula. I would encourage you to pay for a video appointment or whatever she provides. Her website is: http://doctor-ramani.com/ I find her to be intelligent, empathetic, experienced and a great source. If your son is narcissistic, psychopath or sociopath she would be honest and straightforward with you. She has a lot of videos on youtube (Dr. Ramani) She is the best I have found. I would want to confrim or rule out my theory. Search Ramani's videos for what is narcissism, psychopath and sociopath. Also, Shahida Arabi is a phenomenal author on narcissism. I would recommend looking at her books. I recommend: Becoming the Narcissists Worst Nightmare. I went through lifetimes of counselors that did not help me, but harmed me more. Your son's behaviors sound familiar to me. I know a lot of people with behavior that is similar. It is brave and courageous that you would reach out. You can endure this and make decisions that are best for you and your family. Hang in there.
