I am glad you did this article. So the part in scripture about the Shepard... it would seem common sense, like, Who beats sheep? They don't but the religious programming overrides all of that.

"creating children who become spontaneously loyal": yes, this breaks us and we are primed and programmed to submissively take abuse in our other relationships. Saying God encourages you to abuse children is insane. Dobson and all these people are disordered. They love to promote themselves and their levels of wisdom, expertise and education but they conveniently neglect to learn the meaning of scripture? My family loved having God give them the green light to abuse children. Once, I desperately needed help caring for my children when they were very young. I asked my aunt for help. She said, she wouldn't help unless she could spank my kids. Another time, she loudly announced, "josie doesn't spank her kids, I am going to buy her "Dare to Discipline".

There is a part in your piece that made me think of witch hunts, and the paranormal where they try to exorcise demons. It seems this is parallel to their mentality about children, "driving out the evil".

We are hurting our children deeply. They don't recover from this. Cycles of abuse are ultimately destroying our society beyond measure.
