I feel so much of what you are saying. The difference is I choose to hide, cover and withdraw from the world. The voices of my experience have been harsh and destructive. It is a mighty wrestling to just try to find a path that I could be okay with me. Trauma does this to us. I don't always want to be afraid. I just want to be happy with myself.
