I have thought about this and yes there is definitely an expectation of divine payout. And sadly, that maybe God will see you in your pain and be okay with you because you suffer. We always say how great and mighty God is, but in reality, feel his cold silence and abandonment. We learned that we should have to suffer because God expects it. It is in the hymns they sing, Sunday school lessons and preaching. We have always had to explain why the bad things happen, because we learn to do that work for a disengaged God.
