I love the encouragement!

I don’t understand all of the technicalities and rules of medium, but I do know that the most I can clap is 50 times. I don’t always clap. I don’t always clap 50 times. It depends. Also there are responses to our articles. Often I clap a few times for certain responses. But sometimes I clap 50 times.

I am very thoughtful and somewhat judicious in giving my feedback in the form of number of claps. It depends on how much the person and their writing connects with me. It depends on how I connect with someone. It depends on how much and how deeply I may connect with what I am reading. It depends on the subject and how relevant and moving it may be to me. It can be giving motivation for effort.

Encouragement

I see clapping as encouragement. Also, I like the connection of responses and communication between others. One of the best reasons to be on this format is the community and connection.

Greedy me

Am I greedy? Maybe so. But I want MORE claps!!! I confess! 50 claps is like winning a prize at the fair, or seeing a rainbow, or seeing a unicorn!?; or doing something that makes my heart sing. It is affirmation, encouragement and connection for me. And I love it. I will admit that seeing…
