I wonder if he really had a core or identity. There are people I have known for a lifetime, but never really knew them. It is because there was nothing more under the polished public persona. In my experience, these are narcissists and psychopaths.

This smothering, legalistic family structure that the Falwell's built makes me cringe, especially for their kids. It's been destructive for countless people as well.

I would expect the college to collapse.

It seems like Jerry Jr. was like, "Okay get rid of me. You think you just took on some damage? Here's some more for you!"

I think you make a good point about Jerry Jr. I have to appreciate him for saying some truth; admitting some reality; sticking it to them all. He has found his way to freedom. I hope his family is more whole and healthier for it.
