So many people spend so much effort trying to paint people and circumstances the way they want them to look. It causes me to ponder why. Control?

I don't doubt that he had relationships with men. So then why is this information interesting to us? Is it because the reality (truth) of people and history have been hidden and altered? ...society and gatekeepers want it to be erased? What would acceptance and normalizing these relationships do to the tight grip of control?

I really resonate with the part about people being away from their strict religious communities and being more free to be themselves.

His preference for men wouldn't always necessarily equal having strongly negative feelings about women. Was there something more as to why he had an aversion, however strongly, to women?
