Sorry that you had bad experiences. Too many people are so nasty and devoid of any positive human elements.
I stayed in extended stay hotels for over four months- they were both in an expensive commercial district near city center and nearly just next to each other. The first, there was constant horrifying violence, thin walls, fires (loud alarms on the wall by the bed, that went off continually), constant police, fire and investigators coming to the property and massive amounts of smoke (from other people smoking) pouring into my room enough to suffocate me: but the management (staff) didn't bother me. I was always prepared to fight to defend myself when I had to go out to my car. It was intensely traumatic. The second was a new building; nicer, quiet room: more expensive. Most of the management and staff were not decent people; treated me poorly (treated me with scrutiny and suspicion). Both were bad experiences for different reasons.
