This summer, I encountered a man at the beach. We talked a bit. I couldn't say the conversation was good or even a genuine conversation. I was traveling, so I asked him questions about the area, the city that he lived in.
I was in this city for an event and had attended a concert. I was talking about music and bands. When I talked about Def Leppard he was not responding. Judging by his facial expression, I said you know (the song) Pour Some Sugar on Me? Again, no visible reaction. He then admitted to having a bit of a hangover, maybe to alleviate the pressure of not hanging in the conversation or acknowledging a culturally iconic rock band and their contributions to music and society.

But I continued by saying that I had seen Elton John in concert when he performed in my city. I must have been lit up with cosmic light as I spoke about him. I am still completely enthralled by my experience of seeing such an awesome and accomplished artist perform. And I have been tripping on all things Elton John, since then. I am so proud of him for his love for so many and collaborations with other musicians. I love his philanthropy and passion for worthy causes.
